Raiders OLB Maxx Crosby rewarded with four-year, $95M new money deal
The Las Vegas Raiders acted swiftly in terms of extending one of their own, as three-year veteran OLB Maxx Crosby was rewarded with a four-year, $95M new-money contract extension with $53M guaranteed according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.
Crosby, who was entering a contract year in 2022 after signing his four-year rookie deal back in 2019, will now be locked up in Las Vegas via 2026.
The new deal makes Crosby the fourth-highest paid EDGE defender in terms of APY coming in at $23.75M while his $53M guaranteed ranks 9th.
Originally, a 2019 4th-round pick (No. 106) out of Eastern Michigan, Crosby has since racked up 25.0 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 12 pass breakups.
The Raiders who will be switching to a 3-4 base under new DC Patrick Graham, thought highly enough of Crosby to make a seamless transition as he moves from a three-point stance to a two-point stance.
At 6-5, 255, Crosby is coming off a Pro Bowl season where he recorded 8.0 sacks and 36 solo tackles. Look for more Pro Bowl berths in the near future as Crosby has asserted himself as a premier EDGE rusher in the NFL.
