The Kansas City Chiefs found themselves in a contract snag when negotiating a long-term deal with the player widely regarded as the “Cheetah.”

Chiefs GM Brett Veach understands the importance of keeping Pro Bowl talent but also understands the hardships of the salary cap.

Due to financial differences, the Chiefs opted to move their WR1 in exchange for draft flexibility & salary cap leverage. The deal is outlined below as the Miami Dolphins get a premier player at a premium position while the Chiefs get a plethora of draft capital.


Dolphins Get:

  • WR Tyreek Hill

  • 3-year, $75M deal (extension)

Chiefs Get:

  • 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29)

  • 2022 2nd-round pick (No. 50)

  • 2022 4th-round pick (No. 121 OR 125)

  • 2023 4th-round pick

  • 2023 6th-round pick
