How 49ers WR Deebo Samuel TRADE REQUEST came to fruition, what next?

The San Francisco 49ers and WR Deebo Samuel are officially at odds when it comes to inking a long-term extension.

Something I predicted on my YouTube channel back on Feb. 2 (watch the video below), I said that Samuel’s unique skill-set would potentially create a contract snag. Fast forward two and a half months later--and that’s exactly what happened.

For the record, I’ve been a huge supporter of Samuel even before he donned the red and gold. See my pre-draft BEAST receipt below:

If #49ers can come out of the first three rounds with the #1 edge rusher, top 3 WR, & top 5 DB that's an A-grade from me. 1st round (No. 2): DE Nick Bosa 2nd round (No. 36): WR Deebo Samuel (1st choice) OR A.J. Brown (2nd choice) 3rd round (No. 67): Lonnie Johnson Jr/Thornhill

To double down on those gains, I was spot-on in terms of his rookie stat line…

Predictions once again on-point to end 2019 regular season! Samuel was team's No. 2 leading receiver, while averaging 14.1 yards per reception. Predicted stat line: 67 catches, 938 yards and 7 TDs Actual stat line: 57 catches, 961 yards and 6 TDs

#49ers WR Deebo Samuel will be the team’s No. 2 leading receiver behind TE George Kittle while averaging at least 14.0 yards per reception this upcoming season IMO. He will find his rhythm early and prove to be a nice red zone 🎯 Prediction: 67 catches for 938 yards and 7 TDs.

In three years (38 regular-season games), Samuel has racked up the following:

  • 167 catches for 2,598 receiving yards, & 10 TDs

  • 61% 1st-down catch-rate | 6.8 yards per carry

  • 81 carries for 550 rushing yards, & 11 TDs

  • 2021 1st-team All-Pro

That type of production on paper alone shouldn’t go unnoticed. So why does Samuel desperately want out of SF?

DT DeForest Buckner effect

In real-time when the team opted to trade All-Pro DT DeForest Buckner, I said the Niners will regret the move and spin their wheels trying to replicate his production.

It was a bold take because I also knew the team would REACH for DT Javon Kinlaw a few weeks later (watch my first YouTube video below).

And before people say it was about financials. That’s not true. As stated in my YouTube video above, I broke that down brick-by-brick.
